I love teaching. There's no criticism or judgement, just learning for all levels. If you're interested in getting started, getting better or adding a new skill, I want meet you. Classes are focused on learning, verse catching fish – fish are a happy bonus. If you don't see what you want, we can structure a class specifically geared for you.
A-Z Intro to Fly Fishing
Don't listen to scary stories about learning to fly fish. Fly Fishing is like learning anything else, it takes time but it's not prohibitively hard. There's no judgement or criticism here, just learning. This full day class covers topics A-Z, gear to casting and gives you a taste of what the sport offers. I hold class on a small, beautiful stream. It's a great introduction. I'm genuinely excited to introduce you to the sport.

Casting Basics
This is an introduction to three of the most commonly used casts; roll cast, overhead cast and water load. First we understand the principles of how a fly rod works and then, we spend time with each cast. The goal is gaining basic knowledge of how each cast and what it does best.

Tightline / Euro Nymphing
A lot of people are interested in learning more about Euro nymphing. I introduce you to this deadly effective technique and show you how to use a Euro specific rod and setup. What makes my class unique, is that I'll also show you how to use the same techniques using any rod, line and leader setup. Sound cool? It is.

Intro to Bugs
Learning the basics of aquatic entomology, the study of freshwater insects, can be a game changer that takes your fly selection and fishing from uninformed to informed. You'll gain basic knowledge of major aquatic insects relevant to your fishing, how to identify them and how to use what you learn to make better decisions.

Learn to Wade and Wade Safely
Wading is an important skill that's often ignored. In fact, it's just as important as any cast or technique and it needs to be practiced. Learn wading basics that will help keep you on your feet, including; how to use a staff correctly, how to avoid trouble and how to get yourself out of trouble.
